Robert
Kirkbride is the director of studio 'patafisico and an associate
professor at Parsons The New School for Design. His work has
been exhibited and published widely, appearing in Vogue, Chora
4, and the film XX/XY. He has been a visiting scholar
at the Canadian Centre for Architecture and architect-in-residence
at the Bogliasco Foundation in Genoa, Italy, and is an editorial
board member of the Italian-based Nexus Network Journal and commissioning
editor for Alphabet City. His recent book, Architecture and
Memory (Columbia University Press: 2008), received the Gutenberg-e
Prize from the American Historical Association: it is openly
navigable at http://www.gutenberg-e.org/kirkbride/.
Kirkbride lives in New York City with his wife, composer Melissa
Grey.
