Vera Viana graduated in Painting from the Fine Arts Faculty of the University of Porto (FBAUP). She is currently the Director of "Aproged", the Portuguese Descriptive Geometry and Drawing Teachers Association, a position she has held since 2009. As a teacher of descriptive geometry at the secondary level, a teachers trainer and an authorized Rhino Trainer, she has been engaged since 2001 in the development and online publishing of educational resources built with dynamic geometry software and 3D modelling software. Author of schoolbooks for high school on the teaching of descriptive geometry and papers on the subject, she is presently taking a Ph.D. at Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro University (UTAD) in the teaching of geometry and descriptive geometry and the potentials of digital tools for teaching methodologies and its learning outcomes. Since 2008 she has organised Aproged’s annual meetings and is the editor of Aproged’s Bulletin and Geometrias Conference Proceedings.
